Vintage
guitar amplifiers from the 50's, 60's, and 70's
Mike
Rogers is a boutique amplifier builder of Central Illinois who
builds hand-made, hand wired point-to-point guitar tube amplifiers.
The
typical customer is the professional musician that does not want an
'off the rack' amplifier and knows the difference of a hand-made,
custom creation that is the expressive vehicle they have been
looking for.
MR
AMP guitar amplifiers are based upon the classic Vox, Marshall, and
Fender amplifiers of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
The
circuitry layouts are time tested designs from world class amplifier
builder Doug Hoffman. Doug has designed and built amplifiers for the
Randall amplifier company, and for musicians like Dickie Betts of
the Allman Brothers.
Mike Rogers has
played guitar for over 20 years and knows what a good guitar
amplifier should sound like:
"I
have owned and played on lots of different makes and models of amps
from Peaveys to Marshalls both tube and transistor. The Hoffman
boards capture what you could only buy 30 years ago.
I
personally use Hoffman-based MR AMPs, and have sold my other 'big
name' guitar amplifiers because I simply did not need them any
more!"
